I wasn't an athlete in high school, and I resented the expectation that owning a penis requires one to spend several hours a week watching people throw a ball, catch a ball, run with a ball, and get all excited as if we haven't seen the exact same thing a million times before. My wife once called be the anti-jock because of my resistance to getting cought up in sports hysteria.
But after a few years working next to Qwest Field, my wife making me watch a couple of near-flawless play-off games, and two weeks of running a gauntlet of hungry ticket scalpers every time I stepped out the back door of my office, I decided to give it a shot.
Superbowl XL was probably the first NFL game I ever watch while paying attention throughout, without wandering off during the 2nd or 4th quarter, if the score isn't close.
And what do I get for that?
Nevermind, I'll become the anti-jock again.

For the football, I received a relatively empty restaurant in the Haight to pick up yummy food and some free space in GG Park on a Sunday while wandering around looking at the flowers. I love SB Sunday for all the space. Also, it's the best afternoon of the year to go grocery shopping. ;)
Sorry that the game was disappointing.

But for for those of you who aren't, the Seattle Seahawks lost in part due to what even non-Seahawk fans feel are some very questionable referee calls.
